Imagine receiving a call or email where someone says, “My name is Jeff and we met two years ago at a conference you attended. You told me about you're background and we're now trying to hire someone with your experience. Do you have time to meet with a few of us tomorrow evening?”
The person who gets ahead isn't always the smartest or work the hardest, although those are great qualities to have. People get ahead by being alert to opportunity. Sometimes those are internal to a firm. More often, they are external to your organization.
